Power St 1 – Base Architecture

This architecturally designed extension to a large home adds new living spaces under the existing prewar house, a large double height outdoor room to the rear, and quirky stairs that join the renovated bedrooms upstairs with the new living areas downstairs.

Built in cabinetry and bench seats complete the renovation and tie the old with the new. The build involved keeping some of the existing structure under the house, and digging out other areas to avoid raising the house in order to maintain already renovated spaces on the upper level.

The owners of the property wanted to live upstairs with their 2 children for the duration of the build, so Candour Builders worked closely to make sure that the construction didn’t affect the operation of the existing house.

“We were impressed how Candour made an architectural extension look easy. The complimentary skill sets of Phil and Luke resulted in our project being finished well ahead of schedule, despite there being a number of interfaces and our family continuing to live in our home.

From the outset, Candour engaged with us in a manner that was outcome focused and worked with us in a transparent manner to meet our budget. Organised, professional and incredibly hard working, we saw first hand the benefits of a project that was well planned and supervised.

We would happily recommend the Candour team and have already passed on their details.”
