This architecturally designed extension and renovation to a pre-war home was a large project that involved raising the home, demolishing post war additions under and to the rear, completely renovating the existing rooms and extending open plan living spaces to the rear around a large tree.
The design included polished concrete entry, solid spotted gum timber flooring and decking throughout and features timber bulkheads and joinery detailing to create a home that is warm and inviting, while maximizing natural light and breezes on a narrow 405sqm lot. The home has 4 bed rooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 living spaces and has a high level of finish to complement the unique design.
I’ve recently had the boys at Candour undertake a substantial renovation to a pre-war home and I’m very impressed with the results, as are the neighbours! Being an investment property, they were open and honest about costs, but also respectful of the architectural design and detailing, having worked with many architects before.
They had great ideas too, problem solving on the go, but keeping me fully informed so that we could make the most of design and building opportunities at every stage.
The results speak for themselves, and we’ve had nothing but great feedback on the project. The neighbours particularly commented on how clean and courteous the Candour team were on site, it was very refreshing! I would highly recommend the boys to others, and will be using them on my next project.”
